Key Locations
Conference Venue: The conference will be held in the Tamalpais Room of the David Brower Center in Berkeley, CA (2150 Allston Way, Suite 100). All conference activities, including receptions and meals, will be held in the Brower Center.
Hotel: Lodging for all conference guests is located at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza (2086 Allston Way). Reservations will be made on behalf of each guest by the conference organizers.
Public Transportation: Both the hotel and event venue are located one block from the Downtown Berkeley BART station. We highly recommend using public transit options as parking is limited.
Parking: The closest garage to the Brower Center is the City of Berkeley’s Oxford Garage, located directly underneath the Brower Center – enter at 2161 Kittredge Street. This lot is for day use only. Overnight parking is available at 2061 Allston Way Garage, located across the street from the Hotel Shattuck Plaza.
Transportation
The Brower Center and Hotel Shattuck Plaza are easily accessible by a variety of different transit modes:
- By Car: Downtown Berkeley is conveniently located in the Bay Area, less than 15 miles away from downtown San Francisco. It is accessible by several highways, including I-80 and I-580. Click here for customized directions to the Brower Center via Google Maps.
- By Train: The Downtown Berkeley BART station is one block away from the Brower Center. Visit the BART website to plan a customized route to the station. If you plan to use Amtrak to travel to Berkeley from the west, the Capital Corridor Amtrak line connects with BART at Richmond and Oakland Coliseum stations.
- By Plane: Three airports service the Berkeley area: Oakland International Airport (15 miles to the Brower Center), San Francisco International Airport (25 miles to the Brower Center), and San Jose International Airport (50 miles to the Brower Center). Shared van shuttles to and from each airport can be arranged through SuperShuttle. Taxis and ride share services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) are also readily available at each airport and in/around Berkeley.
Reimbursements
Guests from UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Irvine will each receive up to $250 in reimbursement for flights and ground transportation. Flights must be purchased in economy class. Please save all invoices for review prior to reimbursement.
UC Davis and UC San Francisco attendees will be reimbursed up to $75 for mileage or train tickets. Please save all invoices for review prior to reimbursement.
We are unable to provide reimbursements for meals, incidentals, activities, and other expenses.
